Begins Work on Behalf of Texas’ 32nd Congressional District in Congress
WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Julie Johnson (TX-32) delivered her first floor speech in the House of Representatives, outlining her priorities for the 119th Congress. In addition, Johnson was assigned to serve on the Homeland Security Committee, Foreign Affairs Committee, and the House Administration Committee during the 119th Congress.
“Throughout my career as a Texas educated attorney and former Texas state legislator, I have always worked to improve the lives of my fellow Texans,” said Johnson. “And now, as their trusted voice in Congress, I am ready to deliver real results for my neighbors. That means working to lower costs, support and expand infrastructure for the fastest growing Metroplex in the country, secure our southern border, and make health care safe and affordable for all Americans. On the House Homeland Security Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee, I will work to keep our nation safe and strengthen our alliances around the world. And on the House Administration Committee, I will always fight to protect the right to vote and make sure the People’s House functions in a way that benefits all our nation’s citizens. I will work with anyone, Democrat or Republican, that is willing to come together to make life better for the people I serve. To my constituents, thank you for this opportunity to serve and know that I will always have your back.”
The Homeland Security Committee reviews legislation related to the security of the United States, including border security, transportation and maritime security, and emergency management. The Committee has direct oversight of the Department of Homeland Security.
The Foreign Affairs Committee reviews legislation related to the foreign policy of the United States, including oversight of the Department of State and American embassies and diplomats. The House Administration Committee reviews legislation related to voting rights and federal elections, the modernization of Congress, and the management of the House of Representatives.
