Johnson to Participate in the 2025 Congressional Women’s Softball Game

July 16, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congresswoman Julie Johnson (TX-32) will participate in the Congressional Women’s Softball Game, taking place at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. The game brings together a bipartisan and bicameral group of Members of Congress to compete against members of the Washington D.C. press corps and raises money for the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), a global organization dedicated to critical issues to young adults who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

“I’m thrilled to step up to the plate for this year’s Congressional Women’s Softball Game, not just for the fun and friendly competition, but because every swing, every pitch, and every cheer from the stands helps raise critical funds for breast cancer research and support,” said Johnson.“This game is about so much more than who wins on the field, it’s about showing up for survivors, honoring those we’ve lost, and reminding families facing breast cancer that they’re not alone. I’m proud to play my part and stand alongside my colleagues to make a real difference. Let’s play ball and let’s fight for a future without breast cancer.”

Every player involved in the game plays for a survivor of breast cancer. Johnson is playing for her good friend and breast cancer survivor Deiadra Burns from Dallas.

The Congressional Women’s Softball Game began in 2009, bringing together a team of women Members of Congress to play the female campaign staff from both parties. In 2010, the Members asked the women of the Washington, D.C. press corps to join the game as the opponent and a lasting rivalry was born. The Congressional Women’s Softball Game has raised more than $4.3 million for YSC since the game began and has become a staple of Capitol Hill summer activities.

YSC is an organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young adults who are diagnosed with breast cancer. They offer resources, connections and outreach so young adults feel supported, empowered and hopeful. YSC is a place where young adults can go to find a circle of support and the best information available to navigate their treatment and their lives.

The game will be played at 7:35 PM EST/6:35 PM CT on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 and for the first time in history, be televised by Monumental Sports & Entertainment on their independent media platform Monumental Sports Network and on C-SPAN and FanDuel Sports Network.
