Johnson Statement on the 60th Presidential Inauguration

January 22, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Julie Johnson (TX-32) released the following statement on the 60th Presidential Inauguration, where President Donald J. Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States.

“As the trusted representative for Texas’ 32nd Congressional District, I attended the 60th Presidential Inauguration to witness the peaceful transition of power and show my support for our democracy,” said Johnson. “My job is to fight to make life better for Texas families, and I will work with anyone, Democrat or Republican, who is interested in lowering costs, securing our border, and keeping our communities safe. But make no mistake, I will always stand up to President Trump, his administration, division, and far-right extremism when any of those individuals or entities threaten our way of life.”

Congresswoman Julie Johnson represents Texas’ 32nd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, serving on the Homeland Security Committee, Foreign Affairs Committee, and the House Administration Committee. As a Texas educated attorney, Johnson has always fought for those in her community who need it most. Prior to serving in Congress, Johnson served three terms in the Texas House of Representatives, where she fought to expand Medicaid and advocate on behalf of Texas’ LGBTQ community. Her district includes parts of Collin, Dallas, and Denton Counties.
